Taught by Lama Zangmo
This event is past. If you are interested in obtaining the recording of these teachings please reach out to Lama Zangmo directly by emailing Zangmoktc [at] gmail [dot] com
At the request of Palpung Shenpen Tharchin sangha, Lama Zangmo of Palpung Thubten Choling will lead an in-person teaching and practice weekend on Chenrezig, the Bodhisattva of compassion.
From Lama Zangmo: “We will discuss and practice the Chenrezig sadhana and compassion itself in terms of view, meditation, and application. The view is our perspective and approach to the practice. Meditation includes deity meditation as a technique and how it relates to other dharma practices such as calm abiding and insight. Application relates the view and meditation to our daily lives.”
Practice sessions will include teaching, chanting (in Tibetan and English), mantra recitation and Q&A. For those attending in person, individual meetings with Lama Zangmo will be available upon request and as time allows.
Lama Zangmo is a practitioner in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition with over 20 years of experience. From 2008-2020 they completed three consecutive 3-year retreats at Palpung Thubten Choling monastery in upstate New York under the guidance of Lama Norlha Rinpoche and Kenting Tai Situ Rinpoche in both the Mahamudra and Dzogchen system. They have joined the Richmond sangha virtually for several Thursday night sessions and Inclusivity Committee discussions.
A suggested donation of $20 per session will help cover Lama’s travel, rental of the venue and other expenses. You can contribute online using the “donate” button on this website sidebar (mobile scroll down) or at the teaching via cash or check. No one will be turned away for a lack of funds.
