Thursdays 7-7:30 pm Oct 9, 16, 23 | Lama will teach via zoom and Ekoji will be open for in-person fellowship; teachings will be followed by PST’s weekly practice | Attend by Zoom | directions & access
At Flickering Stars and Candle Flames, a series of 30-minute, interactive dharma workshops, Lama Linda will lead discussion about the reality of impermanence, both obvious and subtle. We’ll share ideas for cultivating an experiential understanding of impermanence, to help free ourselves from the unrealistic, often hidden expectations that underlie a surprising percentage of our suffering. As an aid to our discussion and practice, we’ll chant a famous verse from the Diamond Cutter Sutra that encapsulates the Buddha’s teaching on impermanence, and which leads into an overview of the entire Buddhist path as outlined by the Buddha himself in two additional short verses. These three verses may be found as a PDF here and recited as a daily practice. All are welcome to join us.

Lama Chödron, also known as Lama Linda, began formal practice in the Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism in 1980. She served as resident instructor at Kagyu Samten Chöling in New Hampshire from 2000-2007, and completed the traditional three-year retreat at PTC in 2011. At PTC, she has served on the teaching staff and as an assistant in the three-year retreat. Besides PST, she teaches at other centers, including Palpung Drupchu Chodzong, in Washington, DC.
