Lama Linda will share an overview of Shantideva’s classic eighth-century text The Bodhisattva’s Way of Life, which could also be called, more informally, How to Be a Bodhisattva. This text illustrates the action plan of awakening, including the six paramitas, with hundreds of concise verses of specific, practical advice that are just as applicable in our twenty-first century lives as they were in his eighth-century Indian monastery. We’ll take a brief tour of the overall structure of the book and then study several key verses (PDF of the verses) in a new chantable translation.
Lama Linda will teach on Zoom, and Ekoji will also be open for those who would like to attend with the sangha in person. Attend by Zoom | directions & access to Ekoji
